Interacting with Herbs

Signed by Michelle

This is African Blue Basil, our close friend and ally. It's a medicinal and culinary herb as well. Nature already provides most of the medicine that we need. By getting to know herbs and medicinal herbs, you can get to know the land and who is around you. When I say "who" I don't mean people or animals but plants. They are real, living beings. When you grow that connection to the land, you can develop that love and reverence for the land. The plants are our teachers. They teach us so much with their resilience, their ability to navigate hard things and still find a way. They grow through cracks in the sidewalk. That's a lesson we can take in for ourselves.
